Christmas World was the sister company and retail commerce site for Village Lighting Company. We sold all products under the VLC umbrella on this site. It was one of the many tasks that I was in charge of and fully managed under the watchful eye of the company CEO.
I both built the logo and designed the overall aesthetic of the entire site from scratch and oversaw development to ensure this website not only looked amazing but functioned just as good. In addition, I managed importation of all products onto the site, which included product photography and and copyrighting to sell our items a make for an amazing selling season.
After site re-brand, marketing tactics and design overhaul, we managed to improve site listing to number three on google search and exceeded sales from previous three years by 125%.
Village Lighting is one of the leading manufacturers for professional quality Christmas lights. With multiple proprietary products and one of a kind items you won't find elsewhere, there was a very specific market to optimize our web presence.
The primary focus of VillageLighting.com was to build a site targeted towards professional lighting contractors, then your everyday retail customers. It was important that the design was quick and easy to place an order for the exact item they need. Most of the contractors placing orders on this site were also in the field, so making it easy to use on mobil was essential.
The site has improved dramatically in both function, aesthetic and effectiveness. More and more buyers are creating profiles to purchase our products because the flow of our site is so much more convenient and easy to use than the old school way of phoning in an order. This is a plus for both us on the seller side and buyers side.

Teton Outdoor Gear
Teton Outdoor Gear is a new linup of clothing and equipment targeted for a fashion foreword hunters and outdoorsmen. The company startup team are all huge fans of the outdoors and everything associated with it.
The brand had to have the Teton mountain range incorporated as well as their favorite animal to hunt, the mighty buffalo. Although the logo went through a few revisions, I believe that its a great and memorable design that can be put on all equipment and clothing this small startup manufactures.
Flyers, Invites & Handouts
Weather its for the local fraternity advertising their rush week or your own wedding invitation, these sorts of projects may not pay the big bills but they get you to the next "Picasso Masterpiece" .
No matter how small the project, I take them head on and love pushing these bread and butter assignments out regularly. They give you the potential to make truly custom artwork while challenging the balance between typography, hierarchy, and creative flow.
The Big Bang Theory
An awesome show deserves awesome graphics. Meant to be used across any and all mediums, this concept of glass shine and unique symbology merry the spirit of the sciences and the shows quirky humor.
Arrowhead Bar & Grill
The iconic Arrowhead Bar and Grill located in Congress, Az and across the street from the one of a kind frog rock, is one of americas oldest still running bar. The old time charm of this historic landmark needed to be brought into the 21st century yet still appeal to the old timer demographic.
The owners of the bar wanted to understandably stay with the arrowhead name but didn't just want a arrowhead logo. The end result was perfect for my client. The "W" in the logo could easily be incorporated in a longhorn skull or the front of a motorcycle. This concept is perfect for the business as their two main clientele are bikers and cowboys. The logo is stand alone bulletproof but the addition of the imagery just add to the marketing punch.
The "W" has become a icon in the business now, being used on t-shirts, engraved into beer glasses and bar stools. We never thought that the final outcome would be so influential with the surrounding community but because of the re-brand we were able to bring a fresh new look to a historic landmark.
My passion of the skateboarding world took over my Bachelors final for college. I didn't want to do the typical project of all my fellow classmates but rather I wanted to push myself in a particular skill that I believed I lacked, Illustration.
Each board was meant to be an experiment. Four different types of illustration from line drawings to realistic to typographic illustration. After all was said and done, I made four kick ass drawings and had them printed on a medium no-one would have expected, skate decks.
What do you think? Which is your favorite?
Inspired by Steve Bryant's illustrations, I wanted to expand my comfort level with Adobe Illustrator while making a killer graphic for a t-shirt.
Dr. Oktipus is a character that I made up one day when I was bored and searching for full time work. I built him to give my portfolio a boost in an area that it was lacking. I wanted to prove that I could make a original shirt graphic with nothing but illustrator, and that is just what I did.
Would you wear this design? Should I do another?
This was my best interpretation of my mind when creative flow happens, there is nothing that stops a determined artist. These posters were meant to give inspiration to anyone who sees them and remind you to always "power your imagination"
Understanding the fundamental of what makes a great illustration is a quality that many designers don't have. Its a science and there are rules. I just bought a killer new wacom tablet and I just had to give her a test drive. So I made Xarfs.
Goofing around and focusing on making a flawless contour line drawing with nothing but images for reference and my computer. This was my first attempt ad drawing digitally on a computer and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Not to mention the brand was fun and final packaging would make for some a nice retail presence.
Three dimensional displays can make or break weather a customer purchases a product. This unique display for the iPhone 4 was meant to grab a customers attention and focus there eye on the amazing display of the smart phone.
This typographic installation was at "The Grind Coffee Shop" located in Cedar City, UT. This took over 1,000 sticky notes and took 4 days to complete. Nothing like enjoying a cup of jo and being remembered of all the things you should be accomplishing.
The popular brand Kidrobot need a Birrenbach's creative mind to create a unique never before seen doll. It wouldn't be complete without a matching package and trading card.
The idea here was to compose four illustrations that are stylistically out of my comfort zone yet still feel cohesive.
Random variety of web work while attending SUU. All were designed from scratch and HTML & CSS coded by me.
